Trying to take off without disengaging the pre-rotator usually results in a roll over.Īs with most modern gyros, the pre-rotator will only engage with the stick pushed fully forward. You press it once the engage the pre-rotator and you must press it again to disengage it at the required rotor RPM. In the simulation, the button acts as a toggle. This means that the button need to be depressed and held until the rotors reach the desired speed. In the real ELA gyro the pre-rotate button activates and runs the pre-rotator while the button is pressed. The following process will work just as well if you need to assign a keyboard button. ![]() The actual ELA I fly has the pre-rotate button on the flight stick, so this is where I've assigned it in the sim. In order to make the simulation usable the last thing you must do is to assign the Pre-Rotator to a joystick button or keyboard key.
